Our new Head Chef, Mark Riordan, joined Ampfield in May 2007 and since then he has been cooking up a storm with his excellent and diverse culinary skills.
We, along with many others, were so impressed with Mark’s delicious food that we decided to make the most of his skills and open up what is now Restaurant 54, aptly named after the Par 54 course at Ampfield.
Mark’s previous experience was working for an AA Rosette Restaurant, in Wiltshire, as Assistant Head Chef and also as a private Chef in exclusive homes. Mark also spent time learning and cooking in Australia and Asia.
Mark has taken these diverse cuisines and added them into his menus, allowing us to offer wonderful modern British, a la carte along with Asian Pacific cuisine, and we can guarantee you will not be disappointed!
We are also pleased to offer a fantastic range of wines from across the world, perfect to accompany the wide selection of dishes available.
The Restaurant offers beautiful views over the Course and in the summer months the double doors can be opened to allow a lovely breeze in. Al Fresco dining may also be enjoyed in the Summer months.
Should you wish to dine in the lounge area we have around 30 comfortable seats, which are positioned in front and near the open log fire, perfect for the colder months.
Restaurant 54 is open from 9am until 5pm Tuesday to Sunday and we are pleased to serve breakfasts, speciality lunches and afternoon snacks. Traditional Sunday Lunches are available from 12noon until 3pm, every week.
Gloria’s Tea Rooms is situated within the Lounge area of the Clubhouse and is pleased to offer a lovely selection of homemade cakes and biscuits along with light snacks such as jacket potatoes and paninis. You will find a great selection of speciality coffees and cream teas.
We pride ourselves on the fact that all dishes from our kitchen are homemade and all food is sourced from local suppliers.
